It gives you a chance to say how you\u2019ve been affected by what happened and the impact the crime has had on your life. It\u2019s different to the witness statement, but it&#8217;s just as important.<\/p>\n<p>A VPS can help the police and the Crown Prosecution Service decide whether to oppose any bail application by the offender; if an offender is given bail, it can also help to decide any bail conditions.
